Diane Godfrey

Founder and Physiotherapist

Diane founded Diane Godfrey Physiotherapy in 1996 and remains passionate about helping patients regain confidence, function and quality of life through physiotherapy.

She has a particular interest in the management of lymphoedema and swelling associated with breast cancer and oncology treatment and is a certified lymphoedema therapist through the International Lymphedema and Wound Care Training Institute (ILWTI).

Diane also enjoys working with patients experiencing chronic pain, helping them better understand their symptoms and return to meaningful daily activities through individualised rehabilitation programmes.

Having completed five Comrades Marathons and the Three Cranes Ultra Trail Marathon, Diane has a personal appreciation for the demands that sport places on the body. She continues to enjoy strength training and therefore has a special interest in sports injury management, orthopaedic rehabilitation and helping people return to the activities they love.

Her greatest professional satisfaction comes from building long-term relationships with patients and supporting them through every stage of their rehabilitation journey

Nicole Russell

Physiotherapist

After graduating from Wits University in 2018 and completing her community service year at Estcourt Hospital, Nicole chose to stay in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, a region she has grown to love. She is passionate about helping people regain their independence, whether they are recovering from surgery, illness, injury, or managing longer-term conditions.

Nicole particularly enjoys rehabilitation-focused physiotherapy and has developed a special interest in working with older adults. She enjoys helping patients improve their mobility, confidence, and function, and values combining active rehabilitation with a hands-on treatment approach where appropriate. She loves building relationships with her patients, listening to their stories, and partnering with them throughout their recovery journey. Her clinical interests include mobility rehabilitation, functional recovery, and the fascinating field of pain neuroscience.

When she’s not at work, Nicole enjoys scuba diving, spending time in and around the water, and making the most of life in the Midlands with her husband, family, and close friends.
